Adoption

If you do not want to bring up a baby yourself but you do not want to have an abortion, this might be the choice for you.

Adoption is a way of giving the baby to people who will bring it up as their own child. It usually takes a few weeks after the baby is born before all the paperwork is complete for an adoption to be legal and you can will get lots of support in making a decision that is right for you.

Once all the paperwork is complete, you cannot change your mind because you will have no rights or responsibilities for the baby. This is why you have to be very sure this is what you want to do.

Check out the British Association for Fostering and Adoption at www.baaf.org.uk for more information or call them on 020 7421 2670 for more advice.
